A COMMUNITY DIARY
BRANDING, PUBLICATION DESIGN, BOOK BINDING, INSTALLATION
A community diary, this book collected responses from people ages 19-70 about their fears an experiences being vulnerable. Their words are featured in this book to create a connection and shared experience with the readers. The book itself is made via scanned in collages, and the logo was hand cut out of paper and digitally rendered creating a 5.5x8.5 Japanese Side-Stitched Book.
THE EXHIBITION:
Held in the Smith Gallery and the Schaefer Center for Performing Arts in Boone, North Carolina. I came up with the space design to help invite visitors in to read the book. Since my project was already so interactive, there was a desk to sit and write a note responding to one of the prompts mentioned in the book. Once done, people could hang their responses on the string on the wall for others to read.
